The primary goal behind establishing this consortium was ambitious: to create a universal, fast-charging vehicle standard that could be adopted by the entire global automotive industry, ensuring interoperability. It is acknowledged that while CHAdeMO is a key player, it is not the sole fast-charging solution available, with other standards like the Combined Charging System (CCS) also being prominent alternatives in the market. This highlights the competitive and evolving landscape of electric vehicle charging technology.
